Gilmanton Historical Society Archive People

The location is the Town Poor Farm, purchased by the Town of Gilmanton from Lewis Ward Gilman in 1830. It burned in the 1840's and was sold at auction to Francis Ayers and was farmed by him, later his son Daniel Ayers and even later by Daniel's son Walter H. Ayers. This photo and others on the same location could be of the Ayers family taken in the 1920's before Walter sold to Edwin w. Ham. This building still exists.
